6/20 vs. White Sox

Oh hi, I’m AJ Pierzynski, the single whiniest player in MLB history.  Yeah, Kerry Wood should have struck me on a called strike three.  But even with the blind generosity of the home plate umpire, I, taking a full swing, was out on the appeal.  Yeah, I took a full swing but then I threw my bat when I was called for…swinging.  Yeah, I’m really whiny.  Waa waa waa.  No wonder everyone hates me.

Just for the record though, Barrett shouldn’t have punched you.  I’m sorry he was a pansy about you sliding into him.

  1. I think Barrett punched him for the needlessly tacky tag Pierzynski put on home plate after he was already called safe, as if to rub it into the Barrett’s (and all of Cubdom’s) face. Yes, the punch was unnecessary, but then again, so is Pierzynski’s whining. That last pitch by Wood was clearly a strike, whether called or swinging. Sit down and shut up you baby.
